Brian Sanderson, Principal

Brian Sanderson, founder and president of Three Oak Group, is a lawyer with deep experience in public policy and extensive relationships with policymakers. He most recently served as policy director at the Republican Governors Association (RGA), where he led the Republican Governors Public Policy Committee (RGPPC) and worked closely with over 50 governors, their staffs, and agency leaders. Before joining the RGA in 2015, he served as policy director for the Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA) and president of the Rule of Law Defense Fund (RLDF). He maintains strong relationships with attorneys general and their staffs. In both RGA and RAGA roles Brian developed strong ties with congressional staff, Administration officials, and public policy think tanks. 

Prior to leading policy efforts at national political committees, Brian worked as a senior staff member for Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour, led the Gulf Coast Business Council as president/executive director, and was in private law practice for over eight years. He was named 2013 National Finalist for the White House Fellowship Program and elected president of the Mississippi Young Lawyers Division. In 2007, he was named Young Alumnus of the Year at the University of Mississippi, where he received his BBA and JD and was elected to the University’s Hall of Fame and president of the Law School Student Body.  

Brian and his wife, Marie, are parents to three children, parishioners of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, and active members of the St. Alphonsus Catholic School PTO.
